December Primary I

November 30, 2009

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

It is hard to believe that December is upon us!

This month, we will be busier than ever!
Today, we learned two new countries of Europe:   Switzerland & Germany.  We will continue to add 2-4 countries each week.

The children continue to amaze me!  We haven’t gone over our European countries since Friday, November 21st, but many children remembered the countries we had studied:  Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, England, Ireland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, & Finland!!

Our composer for December is Handel.
We will learn lots of songs, including Frosty, Rudolph & The 12 Days of Christmas.
We will study evergreens, the story of Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Poisettias & giving.

Each year at Plum Tree, we participate in the Toys for Tots program.  Each child is invited to bring an UNWRAPPED toy to place under our tree, on December 18, 2009. We will have a special Show & Share for these items Friday, December 18th

School will be dismissed December 21st-Janary 1, 2010 for Winter Break.  School will resume January 4, 2010. There will not be care offered during the Winter Break.

For a craft we need pine cones.  Send them in, if you have them.

Thank you!
